Privacy Policy

Digital Citizenship Meaning is run by AAA Internet Brands, LLC (“we”). This page explains what we collect on digitalcitizenshipmeaning.com, why, and what you can do about it. Given what this site is about, we try to practice what the guide preaches.

Who this site is for

This site is written for adults: parents, caregivers, and educators. It is not directed to children or teens, and the newsletter and contact form are for adults 18 and over. See Children and teens below.

What you give us

Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address and which page you signed up from. We use it only to send the newsletter you asked for. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately.

Contact form.If you write to us, we store your name (optional), email, and message so we can reply. Please do not send us a student’s name, school, passwords, or health details.

What we collect automatically

Analytics.We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read and how people arrive. We have not turned on Google’s advertising or personalization features, and we never send names, email addresses, or form contents to it.

Session replay. Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use a page (mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling) so we can find confusing parts of the site. What you type into our forms is masked and never recorded. Clarity is not linked to your name or email.

Approximate location. When you submit a form, we record the country, state or region, and timezone your connection resolves to. We do not collect your city or coordinates, and we do not store your IP address.

Cookies and your choices

We do not set our own tracking cookies. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set theirs to measure traffic. Visitors in the UK, EU, and EEA are asked first, and nothing loads until they accept. Anyone, anywhere, can change their choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out, and analytics do not load unless you turn them on yourself.

Who else handles your information

We use these service providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting), Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (analytics), Google Firebase (storing form submissions), Resend (emailing us when a form is sent), and our own self-hosted Listmonk and PocketBase servers (newsletter list and submissions). Some of them process data in the United States.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not show ads.

How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Contact messages are deleted within 12 months of our last reply. Analytics data is kept for Google Analytics’ shortest standard retention period.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and opt out of analytics. We will not treat you differently for asking. Depending on your state, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others with consumer privacy laws, you may have these rights by law; we give them to everyone. If we turn down a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer.

If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, you also have the right to object to or restrict our processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on your consent for analytics and on our legitimate interest in replying to messages you send us.

To make any request, use the contact form and tell us what you want done. We answer within 30 days.

Children and teens

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through our newsletter or contact form, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or teacher and believe a child or teen has sent us information, tell us through the contact form and we will delete it.

Security

Submissions travel over encrypted connections and are stored with providers that encrypt data at rest. Access is limited to the people who run the site.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also tell newsletter subscribers.
